I Buried Paul is the first of a two-book series. It is similar in tone to The Da Vinci Code meets A Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy if the brilliant Douglas Adams rose from the great beyond and wrote the novel himself (or at least dictated it… after all, he is dead). The author (better known to the world as the Walrus) has penned a mesmerizing literary force of eclectic fiction that will “Tickle your tonsils, excite your heart, pulsate your glands, and wet your nether regions – or dry them depending on your species and current amphibious condition.”
Synopsis
The story begins one fateful, summer night when two impulsive dreamers, Connor Kulgod, (the Beatles-obsessed manager of a Nirvana tribute band), and Wes Gordon, (an unemployed mathematician), sit around smoking some really rad “kronkaholic” weed. When Wes accidently cracks open Connor’s precious John Lennon porcelain doll, the two are astonished to find within the broken pieces a fortune cookie-like cryptic message reading, “I Buried Paul.” This sets them off with three other down-on-their-luck friends on a treasure hunt that could rightly be the answer to all their problems, or just as easily lead to their demise. Immediately, the band of friends find themselves on a rock and roller coaster ride of lofty exploration, deadly competition, sinister vengeance, and a very inconvenient love triangle as they try to uncover a 40-year secret that may or may not be in Ringo Starr’s head.
